Torsheika Maddox is the Senior Operations Officer (SOO) for the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA) and Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion and Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer. Dr. Maddox oversees the communications and events units, divisional operations, and leads special projects that the DDEEA undertakes in partnership with campus and community constituents. She also supports the deputy vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion in his role to lead the campus toward ensuring equitable and inclusive working and learning environments for students, faculty and staff at UW-Madison, while ensuring that our student scholarship and high impact programs continue to support the holistic development of our students.

Dr. Maddox earned her two master’s degrees in Population Health and Sociology and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Rutgers University.

Diversity & Leadership: Diversifying Your Leadership Team

This interactive workshop will give you tools to begin, or continue, engaging in conversations about diversity
in leadership at your workplace. On this journey we will explore the historical context of workplace
diversity; develop ideas and language to begin engaging in conversations about diversifying leadership in
your workplace; and call attention to the justifications for diversity.
