Theodore Pena is a second-year graduate student researching supermassive black holes with Professor Kate Grier. Born in South Florida, he studied astrophysics at Tufts University before joining the astronomy department at UW–Madison. Most of his work involves image processing on ground-based telescope data from observatories in Arizona and Hawaii. Outside of science he’s an organizer with the graduate student union and an active member of a university video game club.
