Meet the Sound of the University’s Premiere Band Ensemble!
Mead Witter School of Music
The Wind Ensemble is the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s premier instrumental ensemble, featuring 45 of the finest wind, brass and percussion musicians on campus. In this program, they will delight audiences with 45 to 60 minutes of music from a recent or upcoming concert. The ensemble performs masterworks of the wind repertoire, contemporary compositions, and commissioned works at the highest level of artistry. Conductor and Director of Bands Professor Scott Teeple, alongside graduate students, will engage with audiences after the performance to discuss the music, the band program at UW, answer questions about composers, and how the music situates itself within its cultural and historical context. There is also an opportunity for informal interaction with the performers after the concert. Wind Ensemble repertoire can be confirmed and shared prior to the performance.
Requirements: Venue must provide chairs and stands; meals are appreciated
