Paul Evans has been a faculty member at UW-Madison since 2002. His research uses cutting-edge experimental tools to characterize and develop new materials, focusing on materials with exceptional electronic and magnetic properties. He and the students and postdocs working with him employ research instruments on the UW-Madison campus and at specialized facilities across the US and around the world.

Talks:

Electronic Materials Atom-by-Atom

The materials around us, and electronic materials in particular, are characterized, understood, and designed with atomic-scale precision. Accomplishing this requires a beautiful set of concepts and amazing experimental and computational tools. This talk explores societal challenges that require developments in electronic materials, highlights exciting developments in how electronic materials researchers work, and how new tools and approaches promise to accelerate changes in the future.
