Mitch is an Clinical Law Professor, and Director of the Economic Justice Institute and the Neighborhood Law Clinic. He is also the Law School’s representative on the Wisconsin Access to Justice Commission and former Chair of the State Bar’s Public Interest Law Section. At the clinic, law students learn how to evaluate, negotiate, and litigate rental housing and employment law cases, including claims of employment and housing discrimination, while providing direct legal services to people in need. In 2004, Mitch co-founded Community Justice Inc., a nonprofit tax-exempt sliding-scale law firm in Madison that provides direct legal services to low-income individuals.
