Hometown: Born in Tehran, Iran; immigrated to US in mid-70s.
He received his MS and PhD from Virginia Tech and has served on Faculty of UW Madison for 37 years. He has received many awards for his research on sustainability and Plasma treatment of Polymeric Material. He has authored and coauthored numerus scientific articles and a few patents.

The objective of this talk is to have an honest dialogue of sustainability and emphasis that this is a complex issue and many times producing some natural products are more harmful to the environment than the synthetics.
