Talks:

Mozart's Music of Friends

The string quartet is often compared to an intimate conversation among sophisticated individuals. How might Mozart’s relationships with friends and familiars have been woven into the music he composed for them? How can we experience this music as a form of intimate social interplay?

Exploring Bach's Cello Suites

Once dismissed as curiosities, Bach’s Cello Suites are today hailed as exquisite concert music. We will follow the Cello Suites from their narrow circulation among Bach’s students to their present-day global resonance, influencing not only concert life but also culture and media from Ingmar Bergman films to anime and K-drama.
