Lim earned a doctorate in integrative sciences and engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2014 and joined the UW–Madison faculty after postdoctoral training in biochemistry and structural biology at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Molecular machines that safeguard our chromosome tails

Every human cell contains chromosomes with protective caps called telomeres, similar to shoelace tips that prevent fraying. Over time, these can shorten, leading to cell aging and disease. My talk will explore molecular machines composed of proteins and enzymes that maintain these vital telomere caps, ensuring chromosome integrity.
