C8dence is a dynamic vocal chamber ensemble at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Directed by teaching faculty and Grammy award winning soprano Sarah Brailey, this eight-voice a cappella group dedicated to performing contemporary vocal music while exploring the expansive possibilities of the human voice. Blending precision, artistry, and adventurous spirit, C8dence brings precision, creativity, and emotional depth to each performance. The ensemble is known for its intimate sound, adventurous programming and commitment to expanding the boundaries of vocal performance.
The performance will be followed by an engaging conversation exploring the music’s meaning, its composers, and the cultural and historical context behind each piece.
