Justin Doherty, Senior Associate Athletic Director, has been working in college athletics for 35 years at three different institutions. He has spent the past 30 years at Wisconsin in roles that have largely revolved around communications, media relations and sport administration.
Badger Sports Camps – Everything You Never Knew and More

This talk is about the delivery of Badger Sports Camps as they work with all 23 sports to deliver camp programming. It will cover the 10,000+ participants seen annually in 250+ camp sessions. There are many challenges to providing youth programming these days and this office takes on those challenges to deliver safe, high quality programming for customers.
About the speaker
Tracy Chynoweth, Director of Camp Administration & Youth Protection, has worked in the Athletic Department in this role since 2013 and has been the only individual to fill this position since this unit was created in an attempt to centralize the operation of our Badger Sports Camps. He graduated from UWL and obtained a Masters Degree from Ball State University before working at UW-Whitewater for 15 years as the Director of Adaptive Recreation and Athletics. He coached wheelchair basketball for many years including stints on the coaching staffs of the USA Men’s and Women’s National Teams as well as the USA Junior National Team and has represented the US in many international competitions.

Jackie Davenport, Associate Athletic Director for Student Services and Director of Badger Built, oversees our student-athletes personal development at Wisconsin Athletics and directors the Badger Built program to prepare student-athletes to win now and beyond. She has been in college athletics for the past 15 years with extensive experiences leading large scale projects and initiatives for Athletics including the departments 50th anniversary of Title IX celebration, the Badger Give Back community outreach program, and Wisconsin’s creative team.

Jason King will share the latest and greatest on facilities that support Wisconsin’s favorite college teams!
About the speaker
Jason King was named Wisconsin’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Capital Projects and Operations in 2015, after spending the previous three years as Associate Athletic Director. King is the lead administrator on all major and annual capital projects as well as the facilities master plan. He also serves as the athletic department’s liaison to Facilities Planning and Management on campus. King oversees the following athletic department staffs: food and beverage, facilities and custodial, event management, guest services and University Ridge golf course. He is also the administrator in charge of men’s and women’s ice hockey. During his tenure at Wisconsin, King has overseen over $300 million in capital projects including LaBahn Arena, a 2273 seat game and practice facility for the women’s hockey team and a practice facility for the men’s hockey team, completed in October of 2012, an all-season golf training center at University Ridge Golf Course was completed in November of 2012, the Goodman Softball Training Center which opened in September of 2013, the $86 million Student-Athlete Performance Center completed in 2014 and the Soderholm Family Aquatics Center which opened in 2020. More recently King led the Camp Randall South Endzone and press-box renovation, a $70 million five level multipurpose premium seating and hospitality space completed in August 2022. King is also currently overseeing the $48 million Kohl Center Expansion which includes locker rooms, strength and conditioning center, academic center, team dining, nutrition, offices and a premium courtside club scheduled to be completed in 2024. Prior to Wisconsin, King spent 11 years as Senior Associate/Associate Athletic Director at Southern Illinois University and 4 years at Florida State University, where he served as Coordinator of Facilities for the Department of Campus Recreation.
