Ania has over a decade of research and engagement experience spanning field such as neuroimmunology, rheumatic disease, virology and parasitology. Previous to her graduate training she was the public engagement manager at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Parasitology at the University of Glasgow.

Why You Should Care About Parasites

Why should we all care about parasites?! Although most people have heard of some parasitic diseases such as malaria, there are a host of illnesses that parasitic organisms can cause throughout the world. But it’s not just the health burden of parasitic diseases that make parasites an important conversation topic, but some of the mechanisms they have evolved to escape our immune response can be harnessed to develop more intelligent research and even better treatments.
