Wisconsin National Primate Research Center (WNPRC)
Jordana Lenon is Academic Staff Emerita at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. For nearly 30 years, she wrote science news and feature stories, managed websites and later social media, and led outreach and public information activities for the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center (WNPRC). She did the same for the UW–Madison Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center (SCRMC) from 2007 to May 2020. She also started a stem cell learning lab field trip experience through a Wisconsin Idea Endowment award in 2008.
Jordana worked as a writer for UW Hospital (early ’90s); an editor for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (1980s and 1990s); a writer in marketing and communications for American Family Insurance, Madison, WI (1985-1990); a reporter for the Rock Springs, WY, Daily Rocket-Miner right out of college (1984-1985); an assistant in a pediatrics clinic (high school and college), and a volunteer at the Milwaukee County Zoo (high school).
Jordana also holds a B.A. in music from UW-Madison (1994) and has enjoyed a wonderful career as a regional singer, and voice and piano teacher.

Monkeys and Medicine: A History of the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center
Ms. Lenon will review scientific breakthroughs and current research at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center. She will talk about the center’s main research areas in global infectious disease, aging, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and reproduction and development. Ms. Lenon will also describe animal care at the center and answer questions following the talk.
Approximate Length of Talk: 30-40 minute talk, followed by Q&A.
