Graduate Research Assistant
College of Letters & Science l Department of Chemistry
Hometown: Chaska, MN
Laura Muehlbauer is an Analytical Chemistry PhD student in the Chemistry Department. Laura earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Her graduate research focuses on applying complex chemical instrumentation to understand how proteins are altered in different diseases.
Talks:
Why We Study Proteins
I will discuss the importance of studying proteins, how they can be altered in disease, and different technologies used to obtain information about proteins. By understanding these critical biological effector molecules, we gain valuable insight into the processes occurring in a biological system and how these processes may be mis-regulated in disease.
