Alex Linz is post-doctoral researcher at the UW-affiliated Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she is passionate about the natural world, both seen and unseen. Alex researches ways to use microbes to make biofuels and other products from plant material. For her PhD work (also at UW-Madison), Alex studied the ecology of bacteria in freshwater.
