An award-winning professor, keynote speaker, trainer, and consultant, Dr. Moses Altsech has over 30 years’ teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate level. As a consultant and researcher he has worked with dozens of clients from over thirty industries across the US and overseas, and as a speaker he has received praise from business and community leaders and–to his great delight–one Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Dr. Altsech’s talks can also be offered in Greek and French.

Lisa Barker

Lisa Barker is Executive Director of the School of Education’s office of Professional Learning and Community Education (PLACE), Director of the School’s Improvisation Initiatives, and Affiliate Faculty in the Departments of Curriculum & Instruction and Theatre & Drama. She earned her doctorate in curriculum and teacher education from Stanford University and her MA in Educational Theatre from New York University. Lisa is curious about how the principles and practices of improv can inform leadership and learning, and she is energized by helping people develop interpersonal agility — active listening, flexibility, collaboration — in service of advancing justice and joy.

Sarah Carroll

As an HR Strategist, Sarah Carroll works to understand issues and facilitate inputs with stakeholders to shape problem-solving efforts. She couples analytical thinking with creative ideation to support organizational innovations. She was a founding member of the HR Communities of Practice Office during which time she supported the cultivation of communities of practice across UW-Madison. She continues to partner with the HR Community and other offices on campus-wide initiatives. Sarah has a master’s in education with an emphasis in adult learning and organizational development, and experience in HR and operations management that spans a variety of settings, including non-profits, healthcare, the performing arts, and information technology.

These talks include participative elements.

Tom Eggert

Tom has been at the forefront of business and sustainability for the last twenty-five years, both teaching classes in sustainability at the University of Wisconsin and founding and serving as the Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. Tom taught the first classes on campus in sustainability and later was a co-developer of the graduate certificate in Business, Environment and Social Responsibility (BESR) at the WI School of Business. He has written and spoken extensively on the changing role of business in society, corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, divestment, and on how the private sector can lead in responding to generational challenges such as climate change. Growing out of his interest in sustainability, Tom founded the non-profit “Wisconsin Microfinance”. Wisconsin Microfinance’s programs provide people living in areas where access to capital is severely limited ACCESS to financial and support services needed to lift their families out of poverty.

Sarah Janes Ugoretz

Sarah is a Farm Labor Educator, collaborating closely with farm owners, managers, and workers across the country to build human skills and create work environments that support safe and rewarding labor experiences. She completed her PhD in Environment & Resources through the Nelson Institute, where her dissertation took the form of an applied scholarship portfolio (aka: action oriented!). Sarah draws from her own past experiences working on smaller scale vegetable farms.

He is the author of the books Media Franchising: Creative License and Collaboration in the Culture Industries as well as Transgenerational Media Industries: Adults, Children, and the Reproduction of Culture.

Jirs Meuris

Jirs is a professor of management and human resources at the Wisconsin School of Business where he conducts research on how to design high-performance workplaces and teaches courses in change management and people analytics. His work has been featured in numerous media outlets including The Atlantic, Harvard Business Review, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg. He has also appeared on various radio and television programs such as NPR’s Marketplace, Wisconsin Public Radio, and WTV Live at Four.

Dale Mohr

Professor Mohr was born in the North-shore of Milwaukee, attended University Wisconsin-Milwaukee for BA in History and Political Science and a MUP In Urban Planning. Professor Mohr has been employed in sector of land use planning for seven years and at the University Extension for 16. His program focus has been around group capacity building, local issue/concerns identification and strategies to address them, and land use laws and compliance with them.

Felix Savino
