His research and educational programs serve energy industry executives, professionals and policy leaders. He has over 30 years’ experience in industrial renewable energy projects and policy, in education, executive and advisory capacities.

Mark Copelovitch is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He studies the politics of international trade, money, and finance. He is particularly interested in the domestic and international politics of financial crises and the role of the International Monetary Fund in global financial governance. He also studies European integration and the European Union, and is an affiliate of the Center for European Studies and the Center for German and European Studies at UW – Madison.

Tom Eggert

Tom has been at the forefront of business and sustainability for the last twenty-five years, both teaching classes in sustainability at the University of Wisconsin and founding and serving as the Executive Director of the WI Sustainable Business Council. Tom taught the first classes on campus in sustainability and later was a co-developer of the graduate certificate in Business, Environment and Social Responsibility (BESR) at the WI School of Business. He has written and spoken extensively on the changing role of business in society, corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, divestment, and on how the private sector can lead in responding to generational challenges such as climate change. Growing out of his interest in sustainability, Tom founded the non-profit “Wisconsin Microfinance”. Wisconsin Microfinance’s programs provide people living in areas where access to capital is severely limited ACCESS to financial and support services needed to lift their families out of poverty.

Leah S. Horowitz is a professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has a long-standing interest in grassroots environmental governance and particularly in supporting Indigenous rights to protect their land and water from industry.

Charles Irish

Professor Charles Irish is a Volkman-Bascom Professor of Law (emeritus) and the founding director of the UW’s East Asian Legal Studies Center. At the UW, Professor Irish taught tax and international trade and business courses. Professor Irish also has had extensive experience working with the US and foreign governments and international organizations throughout the world. For the last 25 years, however, Professor Irish has focused his work on East and Southeast Asia, with special attention to US relations with the region.

Edna Ledesma

Dr. Ledesma is an assistant professor in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The corpus of her research, teaching, and mentoring focuses on understanding the development of the smart, green, and just 21st century city, in particularly the cultural landscapes of immigrant populations, micro-economies, and their development of a new understanding of city place.

She oversees & teaches in the Personal Finance program where students gain confidence working with individuals and families on financial matters. In addition, she manages the Financial Life Skills program which provides for-credit courses & impactful financial education for UW-Madison students.

Brian Mayhew

Brian Mayhew’s research focuses primarily on financial statement audits and financial reporting. His research uses both experimental economics and archival data to develop and test theories related to auditing and financial reporting. He is particularly interested in institutional design factors that impact audit quality. He teaches Advanced Auditing to Master’s of Accounting Students and research to Ph.D. students. He joined the Wisconsin School of Business in 1999 after working as an assistant professor at Georgia State University. He previously worked as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand, which became Price Waterhouse Coopers. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in accounting, with a minor in experimental economics. He received his BBA in accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Aaron Olver

Aaron Olver is the Managing Director of the University Research Park. Established in 1984, University Research Park, a University of Wisconsin-Madison affiliate, is an internationally recognized research and technology park that supports early-stage, and growth-oriented businesses in a range of sectors, including engineering, computational and life sciences. Olver previously served as Wisconsin Secretary of Commerce and City of Madison Director of Economic Development. He has an undergraduate degree from UW-Madison and a graduate degree from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
